Handcrafting a brand experience
Context At the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, I launched my own business as a freelance illustrator. For this project, I took on multiple roles, including:
- Crafting a unique visual identity
- Handcrafting visual assets
- Frontend development
Creating a unique visual identity: branding & assets
As the sole creative force behind the project, I crafted the entire visual identity, including picking colors, fonts, tone of voice, branding, and a logo that reflects the essence of the brand and brings it to life.
I also created all the visual assets, such as icons, favicon, banners, featured images, and business cards, to ensure a cohesive and professional look and feel across all touchpoints.
Handcrafted with love (and patience)
One of the things I'm most proud of in my project is the incorporation of handmade elements.
I put my heart and soul into creating these pieces by hand and photographing them. The addition of handcrafted elements brings a playful and memorable touch to the brand, creating a truly unique experience for visitors.
Frontend Development: bringing the project to life
If you're interested in the details, I've used:
- HTML, CSS, Javascript (ES6 + a bit of jQuery)
- Hugo CMS, to generate static pages + a template I made from scratch
- Sass, to compile CSS
- Bootstrap, for its grid system, and tons of CSS helpers
- Git, for version control
- NPM, to manage packages and dependencies
- Netlify, to deploy the website
